S.BLOX, a subsidiary of Sony Group, has announced plans to enhance WhaleFin’s user interface and features, signaling Sony’s growing interest in the cryptocurrency sector.
Previously known as Amber Japan, the Tokyo-based company officially changed its name to S.BLOX on July 1. S.BLOX is known for managing the crypto trading service WhaleFin and aims to collaborate with various Sony Group businesses to expand its crypto trading operations.
The rebranding comes after the company was acquired by Quetta Web, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sony Group Corporation, in August 2023, according to an official WhaleFin press release.
