Philippines Allows Social Security Payments in Tether’s USDT

Tether, the world’s largest issuer of stablecoins, has launched a new option for Filipino citizens to pay their Social Security System (SSS) contributions using USDT.

The SSS is a government-run social insurance program in the Philippines that supports employees across different sectors. It offers two main programs: social security and employee compensation.

With this new initiative, Filipinos can now use Tether’s USDT to pay their contributions via The Open Network blockchain. This partnership with Uquid, a Web3 infrastructure company, aims to show how stablecoins and cryptocurrency can simplify everyday transactions.

Uquid, which has been providing decentralized commerce solutions for eight years, supports crypto payments and has built a user base of over 260 million.
