Stellar’s popular Lobstr and Freighter wallets are the first to benefit from new security measures, thanks to a collaboration with blockchain security company Blockaid.
Blockaid has integrated its advanced Onchain Detection and Response (ODR) technology into the Stellar ecosystem, starting with the Lobstr and Freighter wallet applications. This partnership aims to offer real-time threat detection and swift response capabilities, enhancing user security on the blockchain. Further wallet integrations are planned for the future.
Blockaid’s Role in Web3 Security
Blockaid positions its service as similar to antivirus software but designed specifically for Web3 applications. The company’s CEO, Ido Ben Natan, explained that the new features will alert users when they are interacting with risky transactions, decentralized applications (DApps), or tokens. These alerts are designed to help users avoid scams and potential hacks, providing extra protection for millions of users.
Blockaid’s announcement highlighted that its technology, trusted by major platforms like Coinbase, Stellar, and Metamask, has already scanned more than 4.5 billion transactions, prevented over 100 million attacks, and helped avoid losses surpassing $4 billion.
In the first half of 2024 alone, Blockaid has secured partnerships with several major blockchain companies, including Coinbase Wallet, 1inch, and Avalanche Core Wallet, further solidifying its role in Web3 security.
