Crypto Influencer Jaypeg Accused of Scam Involving Uptober Tokens

Popular crypto influencer Jaypeg has been accused of scamming the team behind the “Uptober” memecoin. According to claims, Jaypeg was supposed to promote the token in exchange for 2% of the token supply, valued at about $2,200. However, after receiving the tokens, he allegedly sold them and later denied receiving the funds.

The Uptober team shared that Jaypeg accepted the deal in a Telegram chat but quickly deleted the wallet address he posted after the funds were transferred, claiming the address was “random” and not his. This raised suspicion among the team, who then sought the help of on-chain investigator ZackXBT. The investigator found evidence linking the wallet that received the tokens to Jaypeg, showing that it had previously claimed airdrops from a Solana phone just after Jaypeg had posted a video about it.

Jaypeg, however, continues to deny any wrongdoing, claiming the address was not his and accusing the Uptober team of blackmail. In an attempt to make amends, Jaypeg donated $2,000 to The Turtle Foundation, a charity for conservation efforts.

Summary Review: Crypto influencer Jaypeg has been accused of fraud by the Uptober memecoin team after allegedly receiving tokens to promote the project, then selling them and denying involvement. Despite the accusations and evidence linking Jaypeg to the transactions, he maintains his innocence, claiming the team is attempting to blackmail him. Jaypeg has since donated $2,000 to a charity as a public apology.
