Cryptocurrency exchange Bitget has announced the appointment of former TV host Gracy Chen as its new chief executive officer, succeeding Sandra Lou.
Sandra Lou, who has been with Bitget since its founding in 2018, is stepping down to pursue her own business ventures. In a blog post dated May 21, Bitget revealed that Gracy Chen will take over as CEO.
“I’m thrilled to continue to be part of shaping this industry that is on the edge of innovation, empowering the future of digital finance,” said Gracy Chen.
Chen joined Bitget in June 2022 as its first managing director, overseeing the exchange’s international expansion strategies. Before her tenure at Bitget, she was a host on the crypto TV show “Killer Whales.”
Lou’s departure follows recent turbulence for Bitget. Just four months ago, multiple users on X (formerly Twitter) reported that senior Bitget executives had allegedly gone missing and that the exchange was facing solvency issues. In response to these rumors, Chen firmly denied the claims, assuring customers that “everything at Bitget is working well” and emphasizing that “the whole team is diligently preparing for the next bull run.”
Summary Review: Bitget’s transition in leadership marks a significant moment for the cryptocurrency exchange. Despite facing rumors of insolvency earlier this year, the company has taken steps to assure its users and stakeholders of its stability and ongoing operations. With Gracy Chen stepping in as the new CEO, Bitget aims to continue its trajectory of innovation and growth in the digital finance sector. Chen’s experience and vision are expected to guide Bitget through its next phase, reinforcing the platform’s commitment to providing reliable and forward-thinking services in the cryptocurrency market.
