Coinbase Sponsors WNBA Cup, Hosts Fans at Women’s Sports Bars

Coinbase treated women’s sports fans to a fun and memorable night out.

Women’s sports bars across the United States were buzzing with excitement as the Minnesota Lynx triumphed over the New York Liberty at the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) Commissioner’s Cup Championship on June 25. The celebration was made possible by Coinbase, which not only sponsored the game but also hosted fans in various bars.

Coinbase’s Unique Sponsorship Approach
At the Sports Bra in Portland, Oregon, the venue was filled to its 56-person capacity. Fans enjoyed bar food and received one free glass of beer or wine, along with a complimentary T-shirt, after responding to invitations from the WNBA or Coinbase. Similar lively scenes were seen in sports bars in New York City, St. Paul, and Seattle.

For the past three years, Coinbase has supported both the NBA and WNBA as part of a multiyear deal. The timing has been fortuitous. “The growth in the league [WNBA] has been huge. Selling out stadiums — that’s the first time it’s happened in the last couple of years,” noted Katie Leedy, operations manager at the Sports Bra.
