Florida Man Convicted for Cryptocurrency Theft in Violent Home Invasions

Remy St. Felix from West Palm Beach, Florida, led a series of violent home invasions across multiple states to steal cryptocurrencies over several months.

A federal jury in Greensboro, North Carolina, has found Remy St. Felix, 24, guilty of orchestrating multiple violent home invasions targeting victims’ cryptocurrencies.

St. Felix was convicted on nine counts, including conspiracy, kidnapping, robbery under the Hobbs Act, wire fraud, and brandishing a firearm during his crypto-related crimes.

The conviction on June 25 came after a trial that revealed St. Felix’s role in an international conspiracy aimed at stealing crypto assets from U.S. citizens.

Sandra Hairston, U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of North Carolina, stated in a press release from the U.S. Department of Justice:

“The victims in this case suffered a horrible, painful experience that no citizen should have to endure. The defendant and his co-conspirators acted purely out of greed and callously terrorized those they targeted.”
