Hong Kong’s HashKey Exchange Adds Solana to Supported Assets

HashKey Global, the international branch of Hong Kong’s HashKey crypto exchange, has announced the addition of Solana (SOL) to its list of supported assets, aiming to attract a broader global customer base.

In a recent press release, HashKey Global revealed that it would launch spot trading for the SOL/USDT pair on May 24 at 10:00 UTC. This new addition expands HashKey’s portfolio, which already includes prominent cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Dogecoin (DOGE). However, these trades are not available to users in the U.S. or China. Despite the announcement, Solana (SOL) is experiencing a nearly 8% decline in value, currently trading at $163, according to CoinGecko.

HashKey Group launched its international version of the exchange in early April, aiming to extend its reach beyond the local market. In a recent interview, HashKey Group COO Livio Weng explained the motivation behind this expansion, noting that the local market is limited in size and that regulatory constraints hinder global user engagement.

Looking forward, Weng shared the company’s ambitious plans to secure additional funding to support its international growth. While specific details about the funding remain undisclosed, reports indicate that HashKey is in discussions with potential investors, with projections suggesting that the upcoming funding round could surpass the $100 million mark achieved in its previous Series A financing.

Summary Review: HashKey Global’s addition of Solana to its supported assets signifies the exchange’s commitment to expanding its global footprint and diversifying its offerings. Despite current market fluctuations, this move reflects HashKey’s strategic efforts to attract a wider range of investors and strengthen its position in the competitive crypto market. With plans for further funding and growth, HashKey is poised to enhance its international presence and continue its trajectory of innovation and expansion in the cryptocurrency space.
