Telegram to Launch Mini App Store by End of July — Pavel Durov

Telegram founder Pavel Durov has announced that the messaging platform will introduce a Mini App store and an in-app browser with built-in Web3 support by the end of July.

Telegram, which boasts over 900 million monthly active users and ranks among the top 10 most downloaded apps worldwide, is making significant strides in enhancing its platform.

In addition to the new features, Durov revealed measures to combat scams on the platform. These include displaying the month and country of registration for public-facing user accounts, adding an extra layer of transparency.

The Open Network and Viral Success of Mini App Games

The Open Network (TON), a separate blockchain network associated with Telegram, has been gaining attention due to the success of its Mini App games like Hamster Kombat and Notcoin.

Hamster Kombat has onboarded 239 million users in just 81 days, showcasing the potential of blockchain games to provide supplementary income for players. While Hamster Kombat’s in-game coins are not yet tradeable blockchain tokens, the developers plan to introduce a tradeable digital asset for the game in 2024.

Summary Review: Telegram’s upcoming features and the success of TON’s Mini App games highlight the platform’s continuous innovation and commitment to enhancing user experience while integrating Web3 capabilities.
